Yummy!

2.5.11 : 36/365

On the menu tonight;

Crispy pork chops with sauteed apples

and

Lentil, kale and sausage soup

These were both fantastic! Both recipes were so easy (the chops, incredibly so) and delicious!

Here's the progression-

Soup:

Before-

The ingredients

First step

The substance

Starts to look like soup

the remaining ingredients... oh wait, one of those is mine!

Mmmm...
After-

Pork:

Before-

The 'sticker'

The 'stick' (Panko)

Trimmed pork

Ready to bake for 25 minutes

The topping simmering

A friend brought us back some hot pepper jelly from the East coast recently. We elected to use this instead of apple jelly as it is pretty sweet but in a savoury way (???make sense???). True to what we thought, this added just a mild tang in place of being overly sweet, we liked how it turned out.

After-

There you have it, another successful bout of cooking and other than being completely full, I'm not worn out... I like when recipes take it easy on me!

Can you tell that I'm totally lovin' the Chatelaine?? :) I swear you should try it!

What did ya'll have for dinner?

Wow Mich! that looks amazing!
You're photography is also spectacular!
I will try the soup for sure (minus the sausage).
My kale the other night was excellent, and I just love the heartiness of the vegetable :)
